Covid-19 Awareness

India is a very big country with a population mass of around 1.3 billion. Covid-19 disease is definitely something everyone needs to fear a little and the best way to prevent it is by being extremely cautious of one's surroundings and following the guidelines by WHO and government agencies. Take it as prevention is the only cure right now. As a citizen it's our duty that we make sure that the virus doesn't spread. Community transmission would be the last thing we would want. Our laid back attitude towards this pandemic could prove not only deadly but disastrous. The doctors, the agencies, NGOs various other organizations our doing their best to check spread of the virus and spread awareness about it at the same time. But again lending your ear just to hear and then not taking cognizance of it would be a grave blunder.

If your are feeling sick, or have any symptoms of the disease and if you were part of any large gathering, you should immediately inform the concerned local authorities of the same and also make people know about it who had have been in contact with you in the last fifteen days. Being aware and making others aware is the best possible solution.

Symptoms:
1. Fever
2. Cough
3. Sore throat
4. Runny nose
5. Difficulty in breathing (severe cases)

Guidelines for prevention (as I read in newspapers and at WHO website):

1. Frequent washing of hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is the best way to prevent transmission.

2. If you are in a gathering or in a  market please make sure that you should not touch your face or mouth or eyes.

3. Hand sanitizers should be used but hand washing with soap and water is best.

4. If you are wearing a mask, please make sure that you don't touch the front of the mask at any cost. Do not lower your mask for eating food or drinking water just like that. It would be better to not use a mask unless prescribed by a medical practitioner. WHO has uploaded a video on mask hygiene please refer to it if your are using a mask.

5. Patients with existing medical conditions such as various respiratory ailments, heart abnormalities, hypertension, people with diabetes or kidney diseases should take extreme precautions.

6. Please do not do hoarding of essential commodities and buy only necessary products making sure that everyone get a share of them.

As I am writing this piece there are already 236 cases and 5 reported deaths in India and 268,000 cases and around total of 12,000 casualties from the virus around the world.

If we can't stay at home and just keep roaming around this figure will only manifold like the coronavirus itself so precaution is the most important thing right now. It's deadly and the more we are aware, the more we can protect us and the ones we are around. Please if you feel shaky about your health or if you are confused about the symptoms, contact the nearest physician and don't do any medication on your own.

It'sa request to all the youngsters of my age that instead of doing nothing we can spread the awareness as much as possible.

Ignore any grammatical errors.

This is just and attempt by me, a student currently preparing for competitive exams, to spread awareness.

Situation as on 26th March, 2020

I wrote this on 20th and as you can see now the cases have risen upto 650 and death toll has reached to 15. Currently we are in a lockdown and it's very much needed. Please it's a request to follow the rules strictly and don't panic. Spend the time you have got with your loved ones. Help the ones in need of money as that is the only thing you can do right now.
